Task detail

One work item, one URL (/w/workspace/i/SKY-42), two presentations:

• Opened from a surface (list, board, My Work, cycles, inbox, palette): a split pane beside the still-live surface. The URL carries a context parameter, so refreshing keeps the split view. Esc or ✕ returns to the surface with focus restored.
• Opened from a shared link: the full page.

What’s on it

• Fields as pills: state, assignee, priority, due, estimate, cycle badge, and a Follow toggle with the follower stack.
• Description in constrained markdown with edit/preview.
• Sub-tasks (one level): inline add, progress rollup, quick complete; a child shows a “Sub-task of…” breadcrumb back to its parent.
• Conversation: comments (markdown, @mentions with typeahead, attachments) interleaved with story milestones — created, state changes, completion. Write/Preview toolbar; ⌘/Ctrl-Enter submits.
• Attachments: image thumbnails with a lightbox, document cards, drag-drop and paste-to-attach, per-file retry.
• Activity: the complete audit trail, including routine edits the conversation summarizes away.

Every field edit is optimistic with conflict detection — if someone changed the item under you, your edit is rolled back with a Refresh action, never silently overwritten.

Pane navigation

⌥J/⌥K (or the ‹ › buttons) walk the origin list’s order without piling up history; Back always exits to the surface in one step.
